I am very happy to announce that my paper “Warped Dynamic Linear Models for Time Series of Counts” (discussed in a previous post) has officially been accepted to Bayesian Analysis! It was a long journey, but I’m quite proud of the finished product and honored to join the list of those published in a journal I really admire and often browse.

In other news, I’ve also recently been hard at work on an R software package called countSTAR, which was recently accepted to CRAN! This package implements a family of count-valued models built around Simultaneous Transformation and Rounding (STAR), thus synthesizing a large body of research by my advisor Daniel Kowal (and collaborators) into frequentist and Bayesian approaches for count-valued tabular data. It also incorporates some basic warpDLM models for those interested in time series analysis. For more details, check out the package website and accompanying vignette.
